Setup
How do I connect Instagram?
Open Instagram Accounts in the app, choose Connect Instagram and approve the consent screen. See the connection guide.
How long does it take to publish a first automation?
Most people finish in a few minutes: pick a post, add keywords, write the DM and activate. Your email address must be verified before messages go to real people.
Can I test an automation before it goes live?
Yes. The Try it panel in the builder checks a sample comment against your keywords and sends nothing.
Eligibility
Do I need an Instagram professional account?
Yes. DMzio connects to business and creator accounts. A personal account cannot be connected, but you can switch it to professional in Instagram settings.
Do Story replies and Live comments work?
Not yet. Both triggers are coming soon and cannot be published. Comment triggers on posts work today. See Story and Live eligibility.
Can I reply to old comments?
Only within 7 days of the comment. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, and only inside that window.
Is DMzio allowed by Instagram?
DMzio sends through the official messaging features and follows their rules: one private reply per comment, follow-ups only after the person writes back, and a hard stop when someone opts out.
Limits
How many accounts and automations can I have?
It depends on your plan. The current limits are on the pricing page.
What happens when I reach my monthly message limit?
New sends are skipped with the reason "Monthly DM limit reached" until the next period or an upgrade. Nothing is sent twice. Plan limits are listed on pricing.
Is there a cap on how fast messages are sent?
Yes. Each automation has an hourly sending cap, and Instagram can hold sends back with its own rate limits. Held messages wait instead of being lost.
Billing
Can I try DMzio for free?
Yes. The Starter plan is free. See pricing for what each plan includes.
How do I upgrade, change or cancel?
The workspace owner manages everything in Billing. Payment runs through Stripe, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period. See Billing and plans.
Can I get a refund?
First-time subscriptions can be refunded in full within 14 days of the first payment. Read the refund policy.
AI agent
Which plan includes the AI agent?
The AI agent is part of the Business plan. See pricing for the current allowance.
Will the AI send messages without my approval?
Not until you choose to. It starts in draft mode, where it writes replies for a person to review. You switch to live mode yourself.
What happens if the AI is not sure?
The conversation is handed to a person. It moves to Human mode and appears in your Inbox. See AI agent from draft to live.
Privacy
What happens when someone sends STOP?
They are opted out and automated messages to them stop for good. STOP and UNSUBSCRIBE always work.
Can I delete a lead or my whole workspace?
Yes. Leads can be deleted from Leads, and the owner can export or delete the workspace from Settings. See Delete data and your workspace.
Is message text sent to Slack?
No. Slack notifications carry event details only, never the message text.
Integrations
Which integrations are supported?
Shopify and Slack. See the integrations page.
How are Shopify orders attributed?
DMzio first uses a checkout token from a DMzio link, then a session click. Orders with neither stay unattributed. See Shopify sync and attribution.
Can I get Slack alerts for new leads?
Yes. Connect a channel, choose events such as New lead, send a test and enable it. See Slack notifications.
